Scandals - potential friendship killer
Stepping from a girls' school to a mix school, suddenly, scandals starts to fly all around. Gossipy nature surfaces and interactions between people from different gender are often seen in a intimate way. But really, i believe that pple of different gender can become close friends without becoming involved in BGR.
In my opinion, i think that scandals are really harmful things to a certain extent. Imagine if you are friend with a person from the other gender and are often seen together. Because of so, people around you starts to tease you and spread scandals about you two. Would you not feel rather paiseh and unnatural when with the person you are associated with? As a result, the two friends may start to avoid each other for the fear of the scandals, letting their precious friendship fades away. This is truely great tragedy. What could be more dreadful compared to lossing a good friend in such a unworthwhile manner.
Scandals can lighten up the atmosphere and create common topic amongst third parties. However, care must be taken not to go overboard and harming other people or their relationships along the way. Always keep in mind 己所不欲,勿施于人.
to Love or To Be Loved
Would you like to Love someone or to be Loved by someone?
This is an age old scenario question.
For ages, I've believed that it is better to be loved. Well, who does not want to be loved and cared for by someone near them? In such a way, you will always feel that you are special and never taste the bitterness of lonesome.
Lately, however, i've changed my opinion.
A friend of mine told me that a guy in her class has a crush on her. Unfortunatly, there is another girl in my friend's class who likes the guy. Hence, the girl think that it is my friend who 'snatched' the guy away from her and started to behave in a hostile manner to my friend. This troubled my friend greatly since she does not have any interest in the guy at all and of course she does not want to harm the girl or to be involved in this complex relationship at all.
It is then i started to realise that being loved by someone whom you do not like is not a good thing at all. Not to speak about the harm this one way relationship may do a third party or even the two persons involved directly, it is really the knowledge of having someone's love which you can never repay that hurts the most.
This is really a kind of emotional burden, knowing that you will never be able to return the love of that person who continue to care and love you. Feeling guilty and sorry is one thing, the fear of hurting the person who kindly loves you is really the worst part.
In this sense, i find it easier and better to love than to be loved. I would rather give my love to someone not aspecting any form of repay than knowing that someone loves me but not able to return him the love.
